Radiant Insignificance

When my friend asked me why I do the work I do… why nature, why women, what drives you? My work began brewing as a child when I discovered how being in the natural world had the power to soothe and quiet my anxious mind. My thoughts settle. I am connected and in tune and a part of the everything. The way water sparkles on a blade of grass, how the trees move with the wind and delighting in all the creatures brings me into a different way of being alive. I am all at once tiny and monumental. I am radiantly insignificant.

All of these images were taken at Will Rogers State Park before the 2025 fires decimated so much of my beloved Los Angeles. They have recently re-opened their doors and though much has been destroyed, there are so many signs of life. As of February 2026, it is green and full of wildflowers.
